schools spectacular.
sound design + composition - 2022an open ended brief and a quick turn around challenged us to find creative and out-of-the-box solutions to create the soundscape opening to the 2022 schools spectacular, a show seen by hundreds of thousands nationally.
the final result featured a unique blend of samples of nervous breathing, heartbeats and manipulated vocal warm-ups, focusing the piece around performance, overcoming nerves and creative expression which are the core elements of the schools spectacular. mixing these warped and dramatic samples with synthersizer drones, orchestral elements and traditional sound design [risers, booms and subdrops] created an end product that grabbed attention from the first note.
apex isolation.digital virtual orchestra - 2020
at the start of the pandemic, orchestras were left scrambling to create high quality, digital content for their audiences during lockdown when live performance was impossible. our apex isolation project became an example of what was possible in this unique and challenging space.
moonvault worked with ensemble apex and their director sam weller to break new ground and pioneer a new genre of performance that became the norm during the australian lockdowns. thanks to our quick turnaround many of the production techniques, strategies and concepts we developed have been adopted by other australian orchestras in their covid-era offerings.

videography + editing - 2025mighty convoy, a uk based charity that drives medical aid to the ukraine asked us to share their message and call to action with the world for the first time. space and time limitations aboard the convoy presented unique challenges to tell a compelling story with a limited amount of equipment.
